Born in Taiwan in 1989, Huang, Yu-Chu graduated from the Department of the Department of Fine Arts of National Taiwan Normal University with the master degree in Chinese Painting. HUANG was elected as an exchange student, studying Chinese Painting in China Academy of Art.
HUANG taking herself as the starting point, with the eyes of observation, she uses ink to paint the social phenomenon that she has seen, in the painting revealing a bit of criticism, some fun and imagination, and the uncertainty about reality and illusion. Her earlier creations were common, familiar visual images, using raw Japanese paper which can make fine details, allowing the ink to be layered on the tough fibers, as if by the characteristics and effects of the medium, the event was presented--- the current state of contradiction, the ideology of society and the complexity of contemporary life. Recently, in her works created mottled abstract mountains and trees combined with color blocks, and the structure is rich and varied. It is difficult to distinguish between true and false, and the relationship between oneself and the external environment. HAUNG gives the viewer an organic space for thinking and flowing.
