Born in Taichung, Taiwan in 1993, she graduated from National Chiayi University, Department of Visual Arts, and is currently studying for the master degree of Fine Arts in Taiwan Normal University.
The contradictions, pressures, loneliness, disobediences, and chaos that exist in modern humans are somewhat indescribable. Sometimes they can only be secrets, and some need to be hidden. Through the subtle observations and understanding from life, the artist felt the dreams in everyone's hearts, and also the compromise, disguise and the helplessness. She turned these reality and ideals into ink, and presented on rice paper the uneasy environment and the law of the jungle under a gorgeous mask.
Fish and human beings are the main themes of Miss Zhang. In the fish series, the fish species and organisms in the water metaphor the class system of society, the competitive relationships between people, and the expectations of self-fulfillment; in the human series, the artist depicts the restriction and the helplessness in ordinary life and pursuit. In the busy living jungle, people are very near to each other, but the distance is far from the heart. Through painting, the artist rethinks about the different aspects of life, expresses the discomfort in her life, and at the same time seeks the dream that existing but untouched. The artist also hopes that viewers can resonate with her works: Never forget the original intentions while in the pursuit of everything.
