Born in Taoyuan, Taiwan, Tsuei Chiam-Mei graduated from the National Taiwan University of Arts, Crafts & Design Department. Engaged in design, illustration and writing in her early years, now she is a full-time painter. “Xi-ke” is her pseudonym which she uses for her published books and paintings. In 2012, she was invited to participate in the Cultural Art Exhibition of the Museum of the Imperial Palace of Manchukuo in China. Her works became the collection of the museum. In 2015, she was selected for the National Exhibition of Oil Paintings; selected for Sanya Mobile Electric Art Exhibition in 2017, and selected for the 3rd International Animal Kingdom Art exhibition in 2018.
Xi-ke likes nature, loves life, and she mainly creates her beautiful feelings in her creation. She uses brush to capture the moving moment and the beautiful spiritual feeling, whether it is scenery, flowers, people or animals, they all have fascinating looks. We seem to be able to feel the spirit of classical style as well as the color and shadow of the impressionism from her paintings, but still see her insistence on its delicate elegance. Does the world look as beautiful as her paintings represented? Perhaps for the Xi-ke, beauty is kind of faith and with it, she can see what she believes, including those she has never seen.
