Born in 1994 in Penghu, Taiwan, Zhao, Ji-Ren graduated from the Department of Painting and Calligraphy Arts of the National Taiwan University of the Arts. He is currently studying for the master degree.
For Zhao, Ji-Ren, creation is a record of life, a kind of writing that visualizes things. He uses the concept of "From Nature to Mind" proposed by Chang Zao from Tang Dynasty, to find the subject matter from nature and life. Through his own feelings and inner perceptions, he creates the image with his own personal artistry and reading possibility. "Fish" is the artist's emotional projection of his own, trying to communicate with the viewer through familiar things. And at the same time, Ji-Ren left a large space on the painting to give the viewer endless poetic imagination. The "fish" in front of us seems to have the feedback, "How do you know that fish is not happy? "You are not a fish." "You are also a fish?" "Are you a fish too?"
