Born in Istanbul, Turkey in 1974, Tan Tolga Demirci graduated from the Fine Art Faculty Department of Cinema of Dokuz Eylul University and the Department of Cinema Kadir Has University with the master degree. Tan is a director, writer and artist. He has written an extended essay named 'The Psychoanalysis of Horror Genre'. This essay has become a book in 2006. He has been teaching 'Experimental Film' in Kadir Has University since 2008 and considering himself as orthodox surrealist.
The artist uses Surrealist techniques such as 'Marvelous', 'Black Humor', 'The Paranoiac-Critical Method' and 'Madness' to reach the values of the unconscious.
So far he has completed 11 short films and a feature film "Gomeda", and several of them won the best awards in the film festival. His first solo exhibition (Surrealism & Collages) was held in Istanbul in 2019.
