Beth Wittenberg
Born in Washington, DC in 1965, Beth Wittenberg is an artist, philosopher, feminist, and social activist. She holds degrees in Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art and from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania where she also obtained a degree in Philosophy.

“Contemporary American politics and my gut instinct about what is just plays a significant role in much of my art.” She uses text, imagery, signs, symbols, and a cast of characters to tell her stories. Her stories are sometimes enigmatic. Sometimes meanings are obscured. Some pieces are bright and bouncing while others are dark and angry. All marks and words are intuitive and uncensored. She works with concepts that are not known at the time of their inception. The time-space continuum collides with beings in a puzzling environment. Her works attempt to answer enigmatic questions.
