Born in Taitung in 1994, Qiu, Tsai-ling graduated from the Department of Arts and Design of National Hsinchu University of Education. She showed her artistic talent since childhood, and chose pottery crafts as the main creative medium in college. Because of her love for animals and colorful creatures, QIU took their childlike and healing images as the theme and combined the clay with her own hand-painted style to create a beautiful fantasy world in her mind.
QIU is accustomed to observing the subtle changes in her surroundings. She thinks that people's purpose of dressing up themselves coincides with the characteristics of many creatures. So she uses chameleons who changes their body color to defend against the enemy and for courtship to metaphor the gorgeous performances of people and animals in life. Through the exquisite kneading skills, blending personal vocabulary of feelings, she forms the clay into every little strange monster.
